The Power of Poetry is a one-credit course, designed for students who are currently in - or have finished - secondary five English and who are interested in learning about poetry, song and rap lyrics in English.

This optional course is an introduction to how to read and appreciate poetry, including some analysis of texts using textual elements and poetic elements . There is no writing involved in this course as it is a one-credit course. All of the tasks will involve note-taking and oral interaction.
